A new painting I am working on. I took a picture of this little girl at Mud Lake in Ottawa. This was back in February when it was -16! Brrrrr..... I had to keep popping out the batteries of my camera and heat them up in my pocket to keep my camera working! You can tell she's female because she's missing the red cap on her head that the males have. Our group held out sunflower seeds and they flew right into our hands to eat. Quite the experience to feel their tiny feet on our fingers!

Two of my paintings will be shown in the Walk on the Wild Side show in Brampton Ontario from September 15 to October 3, 2015. If you're in the area, come check it out!
I'll get back to the raccoons, but for now I've started another painting. A snake! Can you guess what kind it is? Here I've got the under painting started. I chose white so that when I paint the yellow on top, the colour will pop instead of going green because of the black gesso. Lots of individual scales to paint!
